What We Do

Most investigations begin with an invitation to investigate a possible haunting.  We do investigate in confidence and don’t share any personal or identifying information of the witnesses or the location.

Historical Information

We start a file on the “haunt scene” and separately ask witnesses to describe the occurrences to us using standard “Occurrence Forms”. We often check the history of the land and building through a local land registry office. We may contact Historical Societies as needed or local museums. With permission we may also contact neighbours, etc.

Audio Collection

We use digital audio recorders to collect EVP or “electronic voice phenomena”.  It’s a very simple process and highly effective in the collection of audio.  A digital audio recorder will record a broader range of frequencies than the human ear can pick up, but what’s really cool is that it plays back these frequencies at a range we can hear. (If a ghost is around and wants to talk, it usually does so, but short and to the point.  Most times when we find we’ve gotten a response, we may not get another.)

Visual Collection

We currently use a standard digital camera for stills and a digital video camera with infra-red night shot abilities. We also use a wide range of infra-red security cameras with a minimum range of 50 feet for night video. (We’ve tried all the various still cameras over the years and now use digital out of convenience.) We are currently experimenting with thermal cameras.

Energy Data

We use digital thermometers to record the lowest and hottest temperature at a haunt scene. We also collect the humidity reading. For surface temperatures of “haunted objects,” we use an infra-red laser thermometer. We use EMF (electro-magnetic frequency) meters to determine where these types of energies should be in your home.  We try to separate the “hot spots” from the “haunt spots”.

We do use a lot of other experimental equipment and we often will work with psychics in an experimental capacity.

We have done enough investigations to say we do believe in different ghost-like energies in the world. We’re familiar with ghosts, energy imprints, spirit contact, shadow people and a harder to nail down type of energy we’ll simply call an energy essence.

Although we believe in these ghost-like energies, we remain objective in our approach to any investigation and research.
