What Is Ghost Energy?

ghost, n. [an earthbound spirit], 1, a disembodied subatomic vibrating energy of a dead person; either an apparition, sound, touch or smell haunting a person, place, or thing; 2, although retaining a partial consciousness, may be confused and irrational; 3, often mistaken for an energy imprint.

What is an energy imprint?

energy imprint, n. [form of emotional or psychic energy], 1, an energy usually of a psychic or emotional nature, impressing itself on the immediate environment; 2, ghost-like sound and images replayed on the environment; 3, energies often mistaken for a ghost, but seem to be caused by the living. These energies are only replays and don’t have an intelligence.

Why don’t you charge for your services?

It’s all about collecting the data still. This is not an exact science yet.
We need access to possible haunted locations to get information and further develop our experiences.
We cringe at people and sites who claim to be able to clear a house of ghosts and charge a lot of money. –Yes, clearings or banishments can be done, but the activity can return…usually within 3 to 4 days if it is a very active haunting.

Can a ghost or spirit hurt or possess you?

Most likely the worst that can happen is you will lose some sleep when an active ghost or energy is carrying on.   We have not encountered a full-blown possession, but we do come across the occasional spirit attachment. It is harder for a ghost-like energy to possess a person than a dwelling.

How do you find haunted houses to investigate?

There is no shortage of haunted homes or businesses in the world today. People reach out to us from our public lectures and interviews in community papers and the various media. We are now developing our presence on the internet to reach more people.  Keep tabs on your community newspapers around Halloween when they tend to share stories on local hauntings.  (Wear a HAUNT CLUB cap around and it will most likely generate some conversation on the subject of ghosts. –Yes, this is a shameless plug, but it works!!)

How can I get rid of a ghost?

Very carefully…Actually, every case should be assessed by someone with paranormal experience before a clearing or banishment ritual is attempted. We do try to collect data and evidence of an occurrence before attempting to clear a home of unwanted energy. If you tell us your particular situation we can offer some suggestions by phone or email.

What was your scariest investigation?

We really don’t scare easily and to conduct haunt scene investigations you have to leave all fear at the door.   However…there was a home in Ajax, ON. We were conducting a banishment-clearing ritual for over an hour. While giving it our all, an energy essence answered the phone mimicking another person who was not present in the home and told the caller no one could come to the phone. The time of the call and number was verified on the callers Blackberry the next day. (These are the type of weird mysteries that keep us on our toes.)

Otherwise, we spend a lot of time crawling through dark attics and basements. We try to watch our heads on duct work and avoid stray nails.

Do you have a psychic on your team?

Yes, many. We bring psychics into a haunt scene only after we’ve done a preliminary investigation. Psychics are not permitted to know anything about the location beforehand. We actually arrange to meet the psychic at a nearby coffee shop and then drive them to the site.   We have worked with some great psychics and some not-so-great ones.

How can I participate in an investigation?

We do recruit from workshop and lecture participants. We have skeptics and believers or seekers assist us from time to time. We enjoy seeing an investigation through a rookies perspective. Ideally, we prefer skeptical minded people trained in classical sciences or technical skills such as electricity. It’s fun baffling the skeptics.
The best thing to do is keep in touch with us. We get calls from all over for assistance and it could be in your neighbourhood. Don’t forget, we are based out of Ontario, Canada.

How can I avoid buying a haunted home?

This is tricky. You may want to talk with the neighbours first. A lot of calls we get for help are from families who have recently moved into a haunting. Often it is an energy imprint rather than a ghost. Beware of homes that may have had a suicide or murder inside.  Depending on your religion, you could call in a holy person to bless the home before you move in.

How do I know if my home is haunted?

• If you are not diagnosed with a mental illness, then hearing voices could be a good sign of a haunting.
• Scratching in your walls or ceiling could be a sign of rodents, if not something furry, then maybe a sign of haunting activity.
• If you’re not prone to hallucinations, but you keep seeing movement out of the corners of your eyes, you may have a ghost.
• If you’re not the paranoid type, but feel like you are being watched all the time in your house, could be a ghost or spirit.
• Unexplained activities of objects, e.g., Maybe a loved one has recently passed away and the radio they used to listen to begins to turn on by itself through the night.
• The possibilities are almost endless, but we try to examine the activity as a behaviour. –This is our means to better classifying the energy.

Can children see ghosts/spirits?

Yes. Often an invisible childhood friend could be a ghost or spirit.   We get many accounts from children encountering contact with “shadow people”.   If you have a child in the household and they are in conversation with an invisible friend. It is an ideal time to take photographs or try to get audio.   If a young child is sharing information they are receiving from one of their stuffed animals or dolls and the knowledge is beyond their years. It may be a ghost/spirit communicating through the stuffed animal as a mask.
